It is that time already! I cannot belive how quick the year has gone already, I feel like only yesterday it was Royal Ascot.
I love York races. It is such a nice racecourse and is always a really good few days! Now for the fashion…..
York to me is very classic, I will often wear an outfit I have worn to Epsom to York. I find the two to adhere to a very similar style. You want to be picking out your classic pieces, although it is not as conservative as Ascot so we can have some fun!The weather can often be pretty chilly up North although it is set to be a beautiful week, try to wear something which is easy to work with a jacket, cardigan or scarf.
Here is an outfit for all shapes except an apple as the pattern across the middle will make you look too wide. The dress is from Mango and is a great cut for all, simply add your own black shoes and either a black or cream hat.
This next dress is great also from Mango. I would recommend this for any apple shapes or hourglass shapes. The belt in the middle breaks up the block colour to flatter you. If you fancy more colour simply ad a different coloured belt and match your shoes and hat accordingly.
This Ted Baker dress is the perfect example of a classic piece with a twist. The shape and material is just gorgeous. I love the way it is cut at the front. I would recommend this for all shapes, just keep it simple with your accessorise. Pick out the light blues and greys in the dress for you hat and shoes.
Have a great time!
Ebor meeting 21st-24th August.
The name of the week itself sets a high standard for this meeting!
My number one tip for this week has got to be to wrap up warm. The weather has taken a serious drop and there is a definite chill in the air. It is predicted to be a pretty chilly and wet week, although Thursday will could be back into the higher temperatures for just the day. It is time to bring out those coats, macs and blazers. If your outfit does not work with these I am afraid I would recommend changing your outfit. It is really easy to find a cheap mac or coat. Try places like Zara, Dorothy Perkins and even Primark. Keep it plain and simple if you have a busy dress you do not want to take the attention away from your dress. If however you have a plain dress go for a statement coat or mac. If you do not already have one and think you may use it again why not treat yourself! Places like Ted Baker and John Lewis have a great selection. Here is some inspiration for the week ahead!
Goodwood is from the 30th July-3rd August.
Have a good week and stay dry, Ladies day is Thursday 1st August.
Well the festival season is well and truly on the way! I am off to Global Gathering this weekend so I thought I would do a little piece on festival must haves and a handy check list.
Now you cannot get more fashion in a field than being at a festival! The key for me is knowing British weather you really must pack for all weather! The best thing I have found to do is layer, So wear shorts or leggings with a t-shirt, then have a shirt which you can tie round you waist which is a huge fashion this year with the likes of Khloe Kardashian sporting it. This way when it cools down in the evening you have something to put on. If it is raining, it is time to get old school with a good old pack-a-mac. Easy to put in your bag or carry around.
Find your inner boho! Festivals are a huge mix of boho and rock chick. These looks are really easy to do. To find your inner boho we are going for hats, flowers in the hair and fringe, waistcoats also work really well. To find your rock chick it is all studs and leather! Whether it is a leather jacket, waistcoat or shorts, leather is the easiest way to get the rock look. Studs are also really easy to add to an existing piece or just get some studded accessories. Now wellies are also a must! Whether it is chucking it down or super sunny by the second day so much drink will be spilt you will probably need them! If you are lucky enough to have the sun shining take old plimsoles/converses or old sandals as I say there will be drink spilt so you brand new white converses will end up brown! Below are some pictures I am using for inspiration for my festival look.
Festival check list
- Over the shoulder bag (As you can see its the easiest to wear)
- Toilet paper (After the first hour they will run out, I normally put some in my bag too for when Im in the festival)
- Bin bags (Rubbish and dirty clothes)
- Headache tablets
- Old sandals
- Old plimsoles
- Tank tops
- Socks (Lots of them)
- Mini shower things
- Beauty flash balm by Clarins (Perfect when you wake up feeling awful)
- Nail file (I hate when I get an uneven nail)
- Denim/leather jacket
- Hair accessoires
- Dry shampoo
- Baby wipes
- Hand gel
- Phone car charger
Have fun and be safe!!
Last Friday I went to see Madness at Newmarket races, and I spotted this little gem. India looked just gorgeous in her dress for the races. India is at an age (21 months) where you want your child to look nice when they go racing, however you do not want them to dressed beyond their years. This dress is perfect it is girly, young and playful but with a lighter colour to make it smart and slightly grown up.
Well what a lovely day we all had at Ladies Day. The weather was just beautiful as were so many of the outfits. Nearly everyone I saw had hats or fascinators on which is great to see everyone making a real effort, including the men. I saw some lovely suits and was great to see nearly all men in suits with ties on too, even on a baking hot day. Also a massive thank you to whoever made the cupcakes in the Owners Lounge they were amazing!! Here are a few pictures of my friends and I on the day.
My outfit on the day-

Men should be in suits today, and am sure if the weather is too hot it will not be a crime to take your jacket off.
Ladies take a cardigan as the air is a little cooler now but will brighten up later!
